Scouting for Food is an important community service event that Troop 36 participates in each year. Each year, we distribute food collection bags to local households on a Saturday in November and then collect the bags filled with non-perishable foods the next Saturday. The collected food goes to local food pantries to help those in need. Last year we collected over 2000 food items for local food pantries. Scouting for Food is one way that Scouts show a commitment to their community. This year the bag distribution is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th from 9 am to noon. The bag collection will occur on Saturday, November 16th from 9 am to noon. On both November 9th and November 16th we will first meet at the Halfmoon-Waterford Firehouse to coordinate the neighborhoods and areas we will visit.
